Dr. Alexander (Alex) Razumovsky,

PhD, FAHA, NVS 

Dr. Razumovsky, a graduate of the Tbilisi State University (Tbilisi, Georgia (Former USSR), is a President of TCD Global. He holds a doctorate degree in Neurophysiology and a master's degree in Biophysics. Dr. Razumovsky began his career in the U.S. in 1990 at Johns Hopkins University where he was founding director of transcranial Doppler (TCD) services for the Johns Hopkins Hospital. There he held both professorial and research appointments in the departments of Anesthesiology/Critical Care and Neurology. In September of 2002, Dr. Razumovsky left Hopkins to join a private company with the goal of furthering the clinical applications of TCD.

Dr. Razumovsky is internationally recognized for his basic and clinical research on the pathophysiology of Cerebral Blood Flow. He has published more than 70 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, has authored numerous book chapters, and has been invited to write and review journal articles

2000 - Dr. Razumovsky received the John & Sophia Prockop Memorial Lectureship Award for a paper he published in the Journal of Neuroimaging

2001 - 2007, Dr. Razumovsky was appointed to the Board of Directors for the American Society of Neuroimaging. He is also a Fellow of the American Heart Association, and member of the European Society of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics, and the Neurosonology Specialty Group of the World Federation of Neurology 

2009 - the American Society of Neurophysiologic Monitoring honored Dr. Razumovsky when he presented with their award for Scientific Achievement.

2013 -  Dr. Razumovsky was elected as a Secretary of the Neurosonology Specialty Group of the World Federation of Neurology.

2018 - Dr. Razumovsky was honored by American Society of Neuroimaging with Volunteer Member Award for his efforts leading to the creation of new examination for Neurovascular Specialist (NVS) certification for ultrasonographers who are doing TCD and carotid duplex examinations, presented at the American Society of Neuroimaging 41st Annual Meeting
2019 - Dr. Razumovsky was appointed to the Editorial Board for Journal of Neuroimaging
2020 - Dr. Razumovsky received a Lifetime Achievement Award in Neurosonology, presented at the American Society of Neuroimaging 43rd Annual Meeting
